WACONIA SOCCER CLUB - TRAVELING COMPETITIVE SOCCER

23-2024 Competitive / Traveling Soccer Information

Waconia Soccer Club (Waconia Area Athletics Community Education & Recreation) is offering a competitive (traveling) soccer league available for boys and girls born between 1/1/06 and 12/31/2016. Participants will be divided with boys and girls on separate teams.

Player evaluations will take place in July and rosters will be announced for both the Fall (2023) and Summer (2024) seasons. Players unable to attend an evaluation may not be placed on a team or may be placed on a lower competitive team.

Teams are formed by the Director of Coaching based primarily on evaluation scores and previous year evaluations. Players are assigned to teams based on level of play, skill and/or registration numbers. Roster size depends on age group and registration numbers. As a competitive program, player cuts can occur. Trying out does not guarantee placement on a team.

Players may select one of three registrations:
Fall Season Only (Season August – October)
Summer Season Only (Season May – July. Includes Dome Training Jan – Mar)
Year Round Soccer (Season Aug – July. Includes Fall, Dome and Summer season)

Players U15 and Older are only eligible for Summer Only registration.
**Note** 8th Grade players who are U15 but not yet in High School are part of the Age Gap Group starting in the fall of 2023, Age Gap players are not eligible to play in the Fall season. We strongly recommend that any 8th grade player contact the Waconia High School coaching staff to discuss the availability or opportunity to play at the High School level.

*This is a competitive, traveling league. Commitment is mandatory to participate. This league conflicts with traveling baseball and softball as well as Lacrosse and Tackle Football, and it is not always possible to participate in both. Uniform kit: Players new to the club will need to purchase a uniform kit. The cost of this kit is not included in the summer fees and it is an additional cost required. The uniform kit will include two jerseys (gold shirt, black/purple shirt), a pair of shorts, and one pair of socks. Approximate uniform kit cost: $130. An order link will be made available to the players who register for tryouts

*Additional team fees may be required by the coaching/manager staff for teams who wish to participate in additional events / tournaments. *

Player fees are to be collected as follows:

Fall Only Season – Payment in Full at time of registration (U-9 through U-14 Age Groups)

Summer Only Season –Payment in Full at time of registration or 4 Payment plan with automatic payments deducted from the registration credit card on August 1, September 1, October 1 and November 1, 2023.

Year Around Soccer –Payment in Full at time of registration or 4 Payment plan with automatic payments deducted from the registration credit card on August 1, September 1, October 1 and November 1, 2023.

**No refunds/credits/transfers will be issued after August 1, 2023 – No Exceptions**

Players in the U-12 through U-19 age Groups should plan to attend tryout date. Team placement is based 90% on the player evaluation and only 10% on the previous year’s evaluation. Preference in team placement will be given to athletes who attend the tryouts.

Players who do not attend tryouts will be placed on teams ONLY if there is room on the team. Priority will be given to the players who attend tryouts.
