2024 Waconia Wildcats BigWest Summer Softball Season Information 10U & 12U
Register by January 3, 2024
This is a competitive, skills based traveling league and an evaluation is used. There is a risk that cuts will be made, and no player is guaranteed a spot on any team regardless of team placement in previous leagues/seasons. For those who wish to skip the evaluation process and have equal playing time please register and play in our recreation league next spring/summer. Commitment is necessary to participate in this league! We expect participants to attend 90-100% of all practices and games please.Â
10U-12U play in the Big West Softball league, 2 local MN/Western WI tournaments in May/June, State Qualifiers tournament & potentially State Tournament if they advance. Please visit MNSoftball.com for updated weekend dates for the Qualifiers and State tournament for 2024. **PLEASE KEEP YOUR MAY/JUNE (& July State)Â weekends available until your coach indicates what weekends you’ll have tournaments, likely around mid March.
** Priority for roster spots on 10U teams will be given to players who are 10U & 9U eligible per the MN Softball age calculator and chart. Players who are 8U eligible are welcome to register, but will only be rostered to fill a 10U team if needed.
10U/12U – Must attend ISD #110 Waconia Schools or reside in Waconia District Boundaries to register and attend evaluations.
There is no guarantee that there will be enough players to fill out a team. If there are enough girls, multiple teams could be created. Independent evaluators will be used. WAA and the Softball Advisory Board will also consider previous season coaches evaluations to create teams. In the event you were evaluated and not selected to the Big West Softball League you will receive a full refund minus the $15 evaluation fee/$10 processing fee ($25 total.) An email will be sent after evaluations to explain additional softball options.
League games will be played one or two nights per week, Mon-Thursday, however, if games are rescheduled due to weather you could potentially play Fri/Sat/Sun. The league plays double headers on game nights. Tournaments will be on weekends in May/June/(State Tournament in early July.)
All uniforms will be available at the January evaluation for participants to try on so the correct size is ordered. A parent/guardian must come in to tryouts with their player and have the child try on the jersey. Parents/guardians will be asked to initial that they have tried on the uniforms and the correct size was selected. WAA is not liable if the uniform was not tried on and the correct size wasn’t selected.
$450 Fee Includes:
*Participants that plan to play summer 2024Â ONLYÂ owe an additional $25Â non-refundable evaluation fee at the time of registration. If you played Fall softball 2023, you have already paid your $25 evaluation fee. Please select $0 in the drop down at the time of summer registration.Â
